The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI), a leading cancer research center and hospital in Amsterdam, identified LRG1 as a promising therapeutic target through independent research conducted in 2023. Seeking to advance this discovery, NKI approached Senya to jointly explore anti-LRG1 therapies for cancer treatment.

The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding to pursue a close scientific and business collaboration in oncology.
